Virtual Sangha

A MONTHLY COMMUNITY EVENT AND PRACTICE
WITH CO-HOSTS
DANIEL RYAN,
JEREMY D JOHNSON
&

ALISON KATE
“Community is the ocean in which we swim. We are all products of associations that have shaped the development of our ways of thinking and being. Evolution is inter-subjective. Through conversations with friends we share our values and inner worldviews and discover better ways of being. Communities shaped by higher consciousness and conscience are vital keys to a sustainable relationship with the planetary lifeweb.” – Alex Grey and Allyson Grey

Just living with people does not make community. We need to share the same reservoir of values and love. We need to share a common vision and common commitment, and discord is part of process. It is a lotus in muddy water, as we face the challenge of intimacy and transparency. — Joan Halifax

"If you do not care about networks, the networks will care about you." — Manuel Castells

PRACTICING, TOGETHER

Sangha
1858, from Hindi sangha, Sanskrit samgha, from sam "together" (from PIE root *sem- (1) "one; as one, together with") + han "to come in contact."
"Find the others," Timothy Leary famously wrote. But what does that mean for us today?

Esoteric ideas and practices in contemporary culture have proliferated into a virtual renaissance -- literally -- with publishing houses and online communities all over the net circulating practices and sharing knowledge on all things mystical across massive social media groups and pages.

Alex Grey has called these communities "visionary culture." Reality Sandwich calls it "transformational culture."

Pop culture, as religious studies scholar Jeffery Kripal has argued, is occulture. It's everywhere.

So, we've found each other. Sort of. Now what?

Virtual Sangha is our response to the need -- and desire for -- a space that goes further than just connecting each other.

Between and betwixt all the admittedly entertaining internet memes and inspirational quotes, we yearn for a community can share "notes from the field." That deals with the practice-oriented questions.

What does "waking up" really look like?

What happens when there are snags in the road? Dark nights of the soul?

What's everyday practice like, for you?

Beyond the beautiful aphorisms, and metaphysical heights, we're looking for a sangha, a community, to help further ground our lived practices. To learn practical wisdom. Applied, democratic, metaphysics.

And, most importantly, have candid conversations.

Virtual Sangha is, at its core, a monthly virtual practice  and discussion space, where we can come together to talk about what's going on with our meditation, offer advice, practitioner-to-practitioner, and discuss larger conversations happening within the conscious community. All with a radically down to earth, thoughtful, and transparent approach.

If this sounds like something you've been looking for, join us for our monthly Virtual Sangha, live streamed from YouTube and Facebook.
